“Paradise lost and regained”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colorful, seemingly paradisiacal harmony that radiates from Victor Kastelic’s works has something of the opening scene of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. Everything for a heavenly pleasure is there: blue skies, green fields, flowers in full bloom and stones of silver and gold. But soon you discover cracks and fissures in the picture. You get the feeling that the contrasting juxtaposed surfaces and flamboyant colors form a paper collage, which will be blown to pieces at the first strong wind – this paradise is a fiction, a lie, behind which lie much darker matters. There’s a crack in everything, that’s where the darkness gets in. This artist’s  paintings seem to shatter something that was previously perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
